In
Altavilla along the road that leads to Verona, you can find
the trattoria “Leoncino, so called in honour of the
Venetian Serenissima Republic’s Lion. “Leoncino” is a
place with an old tradition in the field of typical Vicentin local food: as a matter of fact it started to offer
hospitality in 1890 when Giuseppe Tecchio, grandfather of the
actual owner Piero, decided to rent the place.

Today “Leoncino” is a sure reference for who wants to taste the classical local food: The journal of Vicenza defines it a “myth of our traditional gastronomy”, while the Espresso’s Guide (1998) underlines the merit of this old place to resist dauntless to time’s traps and the “excessive force that cancels pieces of history”.
Mrs Sabrina (the present owner’s daughter) with Mr Sergio
Miolo, her husband, (in the picture) helps since 1987 in the management of the
firm.
